Space-saving production of compressed air | |
That compressed air can be produced efficiently on a minimum of floor space is evidenced by KAESER’s new ASD 57 rotary screw air compressor with an FAD of 5.5 m³/min at 7.5 bar. The maximum achievable working pressure is 15 bar. This 30 kW compressor, offering the decisive benefits of modern compressed air engineering, is a boon to small businesses and companies in the trade that do not count among the high volume users.
The heart of the ASD 57 is an airend with flow-optimised SIGMA PROFILE rotors. The D in ASD stands for an energy-efficient 1:1 direct drive, which means that the airend and the drive motor are directly coupled and run at the same speed. The drive power is transmitted from the motor to the airend without the losses incurred by gearing or drive belts.
The cooling system with its radial fan and optimised cooling-air flow ensures low compressed air outlet and optimum operating temperatures. The fan’s power reserve is sufficient even for long lengths of ducting. Nevertheless, it consumes less power than a comparable axial fan. In combination with outstanding sound insulation, the ventilation system reduces the noise level to 69 dB (A).
The ASD compressors are also fitted with the internal industrial computer controller SIGMA CONTROL. It gives the user further advantages such as additional energy savings, less maintenance effort, increased reliability, easy interfacing into existing control centres and Teleservice capability.
SIGMA CONTROL allows base load sequencing with a second compressor also fitted with SIGMA CONTROL on a master/slave basis without the need for a master controller. One of the compressors takes over the so-called “master function”, i.e. it coordinates and determines the operation of both compressors to cover the air demand precisely and ensures equal machine loading.
A centrifugal separator with an electronic ECO DRAIN reliably removes condensate discharged from the compressor's aftercooler, thereby increasing operational reliability while at the same time easing the burden on the air dryer downstream.
The ASD 57 can also be supplied with attached refrigeration dryer and/or variable speed drive modules. This modular concept makes it possible to match the overall package exactly to the user’s requirements. |
