The world-renowned German compressed air systems provider, Kaeser Kompressoren, has set the new standard for portable compressors in the 5 m³ class with the powerful “Mobilair 50”. Underneath its robust, corrosion resistant exterior, the new “Mobilair 50” portable compressor from KAESER features an array of technical innovations. It is powered by a proven, water-cooled, four cylinder turbo-diesel engine which directly drives the airend. Direct drive eliminates the transmission losses associated with other systems, consequently providing more air for less fuel. Service life and efficiency are enhanced through low motor and airend speed, which also helps keep noise emissions to an absolute minimum. In fact the Mobilair 50 is one of the quietest models in its class, as it has a sound pressure level of 69 dB (A) as per ISO 3744 and a sound power level of ≤98 dB (A) as per 2000/14/EG. With a specially designed SIGMA PROFILE airend designed to run continuously under load, the unit has a FAD of 5 m³/min at 7 bar and is the perfect choice for simultaneously powering up to 3 breakers and is equally suited to impact borer applications.
Despite its exceptional performance, the Mobilair 50 is surprisingly light and has an operational weight of less than 750 kg, which means that the unit is easily manoeuvred and service friendly. This aspect also has two further advantages for the European market: Firstly, new drivers do not require an additional towing licence to transport the “Mobilair 50” and secondly, the unit can be towed without having to be equipped with an overrun brake.
Fitted as standard and improving reliability still further, KAESER’s patented ‘Anti-Frost Control’ is particularly useful at times of the year when ambient temperatures are lower, as it protects air tools against freezing and corrosion.
The galvanised compressor bodywork is powder coated to ensure long-term protection from the elements. Operation is made simple via a single control switch and user-friendly icons, whilst excellent component access greatly simplifies servicing and maintenance tasks.
