AMB 2018: Compressed air for every need

Compressed air is an essential energy source for every sector of the metalworking industry. No matter what your needs, Kaeser Kompressoren has an efficient, reliable and cost-effective solution for businesses of all sizes. Heading the list of innovations this year are Kaeser’s ASD series variable-speed compressors, which feature synchronous reluctance motor technology.

The responsible use of resources is one of Kaeser Kompressoren's key success factors. ASD series variable-speed compressors are the first to be equipped with a synchronous reluctance motor, which boasts considerably lower losses in the crucial partial-load range compared to asynchronous motors. Thanks to the Sigma Profile and innovative drive concepts, Kaeser’s ASD series of rotary screw compressors offers flow rates ranging from 3.15 to 5.5 m³/min. They deliver outstanding performance and reliability, combined with exceptional energy efficiency and space-saving design. Moreover, they take the next technological leap by introducing a completely new drive technology to the market. The major advantage of this complete solution is an efficiency gain of up to ten percent in the partial-load range. With its ASD variable-speed (SFC) compressors, Kaeser paves the way for customers around the world to benefit from maximum energy efficiency and minimal operating costs.

The next generation of rotary screw compressors in the DSD series features flow rates of 14 to 25 m³/min. Together with numerous other improvements, the use of IE4 motors and completely redesigned airends featuring further-refined Sigma Profile technology helps improve specific power by up to nine percent compared to previous models, and flow rate by up to six percent. This translates into huge energy cost savings that deliver on our commitment to provide ‘More compressed air for less energy’ in order keep compressed air production costs to a minimum.

With the full power of Industrie 4.0 - the Internet of Things - at its disposal, the capability to look ahead and know today what tomorrow will bring and the ability to network components and use data like never before to provide unparalleled user advantages, the Sigma Air Manager 4.0 (SAM 4.0) is a truly talented all-rounder that not only cuts energy costs, but which also assures maximum reliability, safety and efficiency for your compressed air supply.

As a master controller for all compressed air production and treatment equipment, the SAM 4.0 optimises pressure performance, automatically adjusts compressor station air delivery to accommodate fluctuations in demand, substantially optimises energy efficiency - based on control losses, switching losses and pressure efficiency - and provides compressed air station compatibility for future services, such as predictive maintenance. All of these factors play a key role in achieving increased operational reliability and efficiency with significantly reduced energy costs.
