Short Instructions

Starting

Starting
  1. Serious engine damage through cold-start sprays! Cold-start sprays, such as ether or other motor sprays, can severely damage the engine
    -  Do not use cold-start sprays.
  2. Destruction of the starter! Improper operation can damage the starter irreparably
    -  As long as the engine is running, do not actuate the starter switch.
    -  Do not turn and hold the starter switch for longer than 30 seconds.
    -  Wait for a few minutes after each attempt to start the machine.
    -  The starter switch must be returned to the neutral position before each start attempt (re‐ start protection).
  3. Turn the «Controller On» switch to “I”.
Controller ON switch
  1. Turn the «starter switch» to “I”. The charging indicator lamp 5 must light.
  2. Turn the «Starter switch» to “II” and hold (max. 5-10 seconds). The glow plugs are energised and the engine is pre-heated.
  3. Turn the «Starter switch» to "III" and release it as soon as the engine starts. The charging indicator lamp 5 extinguishes as soon as the engine is running.
Ignition switch
A fault has occurred if the charging indicator lamp does not extinguish, see operator manual chapter 9.2.

The engine will automatically be set to IDLE mode.
The machine is not yet ready for delivering compressed air.

At the same time as preheating (the starter switch is in the "II" position), the electric fuel pump starts. This vents the fuel lines before each start.
Maximum preheating time should be 5-10 seconds.

Setting full load operation

To avoid unnecessary wear, the engine should be run in IDLE until the airend discharge temperature reaches 30 °C.

The airend discharge temperature is shown by the temperature gauge switch.

Pushing the «Full load ON» key sets the machine to the LOAD operating point.

Full load ON key

If the LOAD operating point is set, the integrated full load indicating lamp is illuminated.

Precondition: The airend discharge temperature of 30 °C has been reached.

The engine runs at a constant speed. The compressed air outlet valves are closed.
-  Press the «Full load On» key. The load valve is activated.
-  The integrated full load indicating lamp is illuminated.
-  The engine accelerates to maximum speed.
-  The machine is ready for compressed air delivery.

Shutting down
  1. Thermal overload of the turbocharger!
Damage to the turbo charger by abrupt engine shutdown after high loading
    -  Run the drive engine a few minutes in idle before shutting down to allow the turbo charger to cool.
  2. Close all «compressed air discharge valves» on the air distributor. The engine runs in IDLE and the turbo charger can cool down.
  3. After approx. 2-3 minutes, switch the «starter switch» to “0”.
Ignition switch
  1. Turn the «Control ON» switch to “0”. Close and lock the canopy.

  • Engine is not getting any air, therefore check the air filter.
  • Engine starter does not turn, please charge the battery.

  • Check whether the bonnets and doors of the system are closed during operation.
  • Check the installation conditions such as distance to walls or similar.
  • Check fluid levels (compressor oil, engine coolant).
  • Clean the radiator.

  • If necessary, disable the tool lubricant.
  • Check compressor oil level for overfilling.
  • Apply correct switch-off procedure, unload machine (idling mode) and then switch off.

  • Too low machine usage.
